Flyer

A one-button flying game from one manifest: tap to flap through an endless course of gaps, a point for every pair you pass, and one touch of anything ends the run. Pick what flies (a round bird, a bat, a bee, a small propeller plane or a helicopter, in your own colours), what the course is made of (pipes, stone columns, tree trunks, ice pillars, steel girders, crystals or bamboo; the theme picks one unless you do), a theme for the sky and the ground (meadow, forest, desert, snow, cave, city, beach, jungle...) and a look (painted, pixel or flat), and the plate does the rest. Everything is painted in code and animated: the flyer beats its wings and tilts with its speed, nose up after a flap and down as it falls; the obstacles are shaded and capped; the ground scrolls under it and the backdrops drift behind in parallax. One press (Space, Up, a click or a tap) gives a fixed lift against gravity, so the whole game is timing. Or set it to hold: it climbs while the button is held and falls when it is let go, the way a cave or a helicopter run plays. Hang coins between the pairs for points on top, and set some of the gaps sliding up and down. The course never ends: pairs are made ahead of the flyer from a seeded random and dropped behind it, each gap within reach of the last, and every run plays a new course while the demo plays the same one. Tune it by the gap, the spacing, the speed, how far one gap may swing from the next and a speed-up as the score climbs. A run is a title card, a hover until the first flap, the flight, the crash and a game-over card with the score, the best (kept in the browser) and a medal at the thresholds you set; Space or a tap flies again. Three layouts: arcade, kiosk and clean. Ships empty on purpose.
